Techniques Our Chiropractors in Raleigh, Durham, Cary and Surrounding areas Provide:

The techniques we provide include the Webster, Palmer, Thompson Drop, Cox Flexion/Distraction, Activator Method, and Gonstead.  We complement these techniques with many other services including massage therapy, exercise, nutritional counseling, referral services, traction, electrotherapy, acupuncture, soft tissue treatments and more!

The Palmer Method is a technique where the atlas of the spine is primarily involved. Our chiropractor will adjust your atlas to free nerve compression in the spinal column alleviating disease. This adjustment will take place with our chiropractor gently placing their hands alongside the ears and under the occipital region to provide proper realignment.

The Webster Method is primarily used in prenatal care to encourage breech babies to reach optimal birth positioning. This method aims to alleviate pelvic pressure by focusing on the pelvic muscles and ligaments. This method avoids torsion to the uterus and may improve range of motion for the mother. Because ligaments are stretched as pregnancy goes on, the Webster Method safely alleviates pain and helps women deliver naturally.

The Gonstead technique is excellent for pinpointing specific regions of the spinal column that have subluxated and adjusting only those precise areas. Once adjusted, this region is not adjusted again unless it becomes misaligned.

Because the Activator method is useful in treating a wide range of chiropractic concerns, it is one of the most popularly used. The activator tool helps remove joint dysfunction in a very precise way and therefore increases communication between the spine and entire body to heal together as a whole.

Thompson Drop

The Thompson Drop technique uses a special table where you will lie comfortably. A small amount of force will be felt in a gentle way to the patient because of the "dropping" of a section of the table you are lying upon. This drop allows our chiropractor to apply a thrusting technique that delivers a pinpointed adjustment, yet one that is gently felt.

Cox Flexion/Distraction

This method is used to decompress the spine. Because the outer area of the disc can become compromised over time, it needs to be realigned. When this bulging occurs, Cox Flexion/Distraction is ideal because it vacuums the outer area back into the proper placement of the disc; alleviating discomfort in a very gentle way.
