How does a spinal adjustment help me?
A spinal adjustment is a type of non-invasive, pain-free, “tuning” of the spine that is applied by a doctor of chiropractic (DC). This adjustment will help correct the position of a misaligned vertebra (subluxations) by restoring movement, position or both in the skeletal system.
These types of adjustments are used to eliminate pain, including a reduction in nerve pain and irritability, and to help reduce muscle spasms. They also serve to restore a full range of motion.
When your spine is in proper alignment, it reduces nerve irritability so your immune system can perform at its peak!
Regular chiropractic adjustments can help relieve the spine of pressure that could be causing spinal dysfunctions. These “subluxations” can cause numerous symptoms resulting in pain.
There are many ways to adjust the spine. Usually the doctor’s hands or a specially designed instrument delivers a brief and highly accurate thrust.
Some adjusting methods are quick, whereas others require a slow and constant pressure.
After years of training and clinical experience, each chiropractic doctor at chiropractic partners is highly skilled in the delivery of a variety of adjusting approaches. See our chiropractic techniques here.
