Can you still smell the lingering scent of chlorine after the holiday weekend? Swimmers can benefit from chiropractic care just as much as other athletes. Marifrances Henley, a Division 1 Swimmer at NC State University, was struggling to make it through practice every day. She was suffering with a swollen arm that turned purple and extremely painful anytime she swam, lifted, did push-ups, planks, or pull-ups. Her Athletic Trainer at NC State University referred her to Dr. Rubin with Chiropractic Partners. Marifrances was suffering from Thoracic Outlet Syndrome (TOS), a rare condition that involves pain in the neck and shoulder, numbness and tingling of the fingers, and a weak grip.
Marifrances thought her swimming career was over: “My goals and dreams seemed to be drifting away from me,” she said.
After treatment from Dr. Rubin, she can do everything she could do before the diagnosis.
“I really cannot thank Dr. Rubin enough for helping me get back to what I love to do. I was able to compete at the ACC Championships and the NCAA Championships,” Marifrances said.
